About the Destination
Australia “Down Under” has been a travel goal of mine since I was little. I’ve always been fascinated by the land of beautiful beaches, kangaroos and koalas (not koala “bears” I have been told). And in 2022 I was finally able to make this dream come true..
After years of dreaming about visiting Down Under, I was able for a month to visit the country. I travelled in a mix between group travel and solo travel along the Australian east coast. Hence, my time in Australia was not really slow travel (yet!), but during that time I was able to make so many great experiences. I definitely plan on going back someday and slow travel around Down Under. If I do I will keep you updated and share my experiences with you 😉 For now, enjoy these travel stories.

1. Nature
This is a no-brainer. Australia is famous for its beautiful scenery, beaches and reefs. During my time in Australia, I got to enjoy the view from the air (while skydiving), on the ground (while seeing wild Kangaroos in Noosa) and underwater (while scuba diving through the Great Barrier Reef).
2. The People
Being from Europe I never really got the chance to meet many Australians. I didn’t really know what to expect. So when I arrived in Melbourne (my first stop in Australia) I noticed two things about Australians:
- Moustaches and mullets are everywhere (like everywhere)
- Australians are HILARIOUS (I have what it is about them, but they made me laugh so much)
